WASHINGTON, June 11: Billionaire Elon Musk expressed regret on Wednesday over some of his posts about US President Donald Trump made last week, admitting that they went "too far."

The exchange of insults between Trump and Musk began last week on social media, with the Tesla and SpaceX CEO criticizing the president’s comprehensive tax and spending bill as a "disgusting abomination."

On Saturday, Trump declared that their relationship was over, though he later mentioned he would have no issue if Musk reached out to wish him well.

Musk posted on his social media platform X, saying, "I regret some of my posts about President Donald Trump last week. They went too far," without specifying which posts he was referring to.

Following Musk’s statement, Tesla shares in Frankfurt rose by 2.44%.

Since the disagreement started, Musk has deleted some critical posts about Trump, including one that hinted at support for impeaching the president.

Sources close to Musk indicated that his anger has begun to ease, and they believe he may be interested in mending his relationship with Trump.
