Muscat Airport Customs seize over 4 kilos of marijuana

MUSCAT, May 5: Customs authorities at Muscat International Airport have foiled an attempt to smuggle a consignment of narcotics after discovering 4.384 kilograms of marijuana hidden in a passenger’s luggage.

According to officials, the drugs were found concealed in a highly professional manner inside the baggage of a Thai national upon arrival. The passenger was immediately detained following the inspection.

Authorities said the seizure reflects ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking through Oman’s ports of entry and prevent illegal substances from entering the country.

Further legal procedures have been initiated against the accused, while investigations are underway to determine possible links to wider smuggling networks.
