KUWAIT CITY, March 8: The Court of Appeals has set the session of April 4 to hear the appeal submitted on the ruling of 15-year imprisonment and fine of KD 5,000 issued against the alleged kidnapper and murderer of the Kuwaiti woman Farah Akbar. The civil aspect of the case has been referred to the competent court.

The court also decided to reject the bond requests submitted by the defense team of the defendant for the second time in a row. Lawyer Abdulmohsen Al-Qattan, the legal counsel representing the heirs of the victim, affirmed in his defense the presence of the elements of the crime of kidnapping stipulated in article No. 178 against the accused, as he deliberately stalked the victim by placing an electronic device (tracker) in her car to monitor her movements.
