Eight properties issued deadline to vacate

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 27: Mubarak Al-Ajmi, Director of the Audit and Engineering Follow-up Department in the Hawalli Municipality branch, revealed that the supervisory team monitored 58 basements used as warehouses, in addition to issuing a warning for violating building regulations, placing a precautionary block on 30 other properties, in addition to giving a deadline to voluntarily vacate 8 basements, reports Al- Rai daily.

He stressed that legal procedures are being completed for 20 violating properties and on the sidelines of the administration’s field tour yesterday, Al-Ajmi said “the team conducted inspection tours over a period of 3 weeks since the launch of the campaign, in order to activate Administrative Circular No. 25/2022, regarding preventing the use of basements other than their intended purpose to directives and follow-up from its general manager, Ahmed Al- Manfouhi.

In turn, the Supervisor of Shops and Advertisements in the Audit and Follow-up Department of Municipal Services, Bader Al-Basees, explained that the team has intensified its inspection tours in cooperation with the Engineering Audit and Follow-up Department and the government agencies concerned with detecting the violating basements, as two violations were issued in the Hawalli and Salmiya areas, noting that the supervisory teams will continue monitoring all violating basements in all areas of the governorate and taking legal measures against them
