Municipality targets storefront encroachments in Hawalli, logs 44 offenses
Kuwait Municipality records 44 violations for unlicensed storefront use in Hawalli.

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 20: In a targeted effort to enforce regulations on commercial space usage, Kuwait Municipality recorded 44 violations for the unauthorized exploitation of areas in front of shops in Hawalli Governorate during a recent field inspection campaign.

The campaign, launched by the Public Cleanliness and Road Occupations Department, aimed to monitor adherence to municipal laws and ensure that shop owners are not occupying public spaces without proper licensing.

Speaking during the campaign, Bader Al-Azmi, Head of the Hawalli Governorate tour team, stated that this was the fourth such operation carried out to curb these violations. He confirmed that appropriate control measures were taken against the offenders to reinforce compliance with the Municipality's rules and licensing requirements.

Al-Azmi emphasized the importance of abiding by municipal laws and noted that inspection teams across Kuwait’s six governorates are intensifying their oversight through ongoing field campaigns. These inspections are designed to uphold the Municipality's standards and prevent misuse of public spaces.

He also revealed that this campaign is part of a broader, coordinated plan. Several upcoming field tours are scheduled across other governorates, organized under a timetable prepared by the Public Relations Department in coordination with relevant municipal departments.

Al-Azmi concluded by reaffirming the Municipality’s firm stance on enforcement, stating that inspection teams will not hesitate to take necessary action within the framework of regulations to ensure full compliance.
