KUWAIT CITY, Oct 23, (Agencies): On October 23, 2023, inspection teams from the Municipalities of Al-Jahra and Al-Ahmadi intensified their efforts to check unauthorized campsites established before the designated camping season. A total of 197 non-compliant camps were removed.
The Director of the General Sanitation and Road Works Department in Al-Jahra, Mohammad Al-Jab'a, stated that their inspection team in the governorate succeeded in identifying and clearing 54 unauthorized campsites. This effort involved the removal of 11 mobile homes and lorries in the Salmy area.
Similarly, the Director of the General Sanitation and Road Works Department in the Al-Ahmadi Governorate, Nuwaf Al-Mutairi, reported the removal of 143 unauthorized campsites in various areas, including Kabad, Sabah Al-Salem, Sha'ibah, Wafra, and Jle'ia.
The Municipality urges citizens who plan to camp this year not to set up their camps before the official camping season, which begins on November 15 and lasts until March 15, 2024. It emphasizes that inspection teams will not tolerate any camps established before the designated period and calls for compliance with the regulations.
Last week, the Municipality had previously announced the removal of 175 unauthorized campsites in Al-Jahra and Al-Ahmadi.
