After the Mangaf fire, Kuwait Municipality intensifies safety measures

KUWAIT CITY, June 12: Following the tragic fire incident in Mangaf, Kuwait, which claimed numerous lives, Engineer Saud Al-Dabbous, the Director General of Kuwait Municipality, has taken decisive action to address safety concerns. He directed the violations removal departments across governorate branches to intensify monitoring efforts on illegal basements.

Hawalli Governorate launches inspections after Mangaf fire tragedy.

In response, the removal team of Hawalli Governorate swiftly initiated inspections, focusing on the Salmiya area. The team conducted a thorough examination of 95 buildings, uncovering 21 illegal basements utilized for purposes other than their designated use.

Engineer Ayed Al-Qahtani, the head of the Violations Removal Department in the Hawalli Municipality branch, emphasized the continuous nature of these inspections, stating that they will be conducted round-the-clock and without prior notice. Additionally, a reporting line will be activated to enable residents to alert authorities about any violations related to basements.

These proactive measures underscore the Kuwait Municipality's commitment to ensuring public safety and preventing similar incidents in the future.
