Municipality shuts 34 stores

KUWAIT CITY, March 15: Within the framework of the efforts exerted by the supervisory teams in the Kuwait Municipality to follow up on the implementation of health requirements, the supervisory team at the Audit Department and the Follow-up of Municipal Services in the Ahmadi Municipality Branch carried out field tours of commercial complexes, shopping centers and retail stores throughout the governorate regions to ensure the stores adhere to the Municipality’s regulations and implement the Cabinet decisions concerning health requirements.

Director of the Audit and Follow-up Department of Municipal Services at the Governorate’s Municipality Branch, Sa’ad Al-Shaiba, said the Municipality is keen to implement the decisions of the Council of Ministers related to health requirements, especially that the supervisory team at the governorate branch works two shifts covering all regions to ensure the commitment of the shops and commercial complexes and super markets. He pointed out the field tours resulted in the closure of 34 stores for not complying with health requirements in addition to impounding 4 mobile groceries and warning 12 others.
