Municipality punishes old cleaning companies by deducting bank guarantees

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 30: Kuwait Municipality revealed that so old cleaning companies are transferring their trained workers to new cleaning companies. Municipality Chairman Masoud Al Mutair said “There is no accumulation of garbage in private and residential housing areas and everything is under control” reports Al Rai.

He further stated that only in commercial areas especially in Hawally Governorate you find some waste lying. The reason of accumulation is the companies have withdrawn without finishing their job.

He further stated that municipality has taken action on these old companies where some percentage of 10% depending on the contract has been deducted from the bank guarantee and excluded other companies from participating in future contracts permanently.

He pointed out that new companies have started their work and in two months of time entire garbage containers will be replaced.

Some old companies after their withdrawal started selling their equipment’s and workers to new companies.
