KUWAIT CITY, Oct 12: The Kuwait Municipality has begun preparations for the spring camping season – from November 15 to March 15 – by holding a meeting with other concerned authorities to review the sites temporarily designated for camping and the modifications that have occurred in this season, reports Al- Qabas daily.

The municipality, according to the Municipal Council’s decision last year, determined the value of securing the camp’s site 100 dinars refundable, and 50 dinars non-refundable fees provided the site is used by the one to whom it is licensed. Meanwhile, the committee to study and update the sites temporarily allocated for spring camping for the 2022/2023 season held its introductory meeting yesterday, headed by the Deputy Director-General for the Municipal Affairs of Hawalli and Ahmadi Eng Fahd Al-Shatili, in the presence of representatives from all government agencies, to develop a work mechanism to determine the tasks entrusted to each entity.

In a press statement, Eng Al-Shetili said that the meeting reviewed the sites designated for camping, presented the organizational plans for the sites, and discussed the proposals of the concerned authorities, the amendments made to these sites, and the terms and conditions for licensing the camps. He added that the formation of field teams at the governorate level was discussed to survey, prepare and clean all sites, stressing the removal of any camp set up outside the areas designated for camping.

The Municipality has also issued warnings to shepherds to graze their sheep outside the specified sites and to stay away from high pressure overhead power lines and coordinate with the concerned authorities to preserve the environment and wildlife. Al-Shatili revealed that coordination has been made towards establishing service sites (central markets to be set up by coops, fire stations, security center, health center, ambulance center) for the benefit of campers, calling on citizens and residents to cooperate and abide by instructions to preserve the environment.
