‘Female staff to be employed in morning shift’

KUWAIT CITY, June 22: Due to the large number of complaints from road users and the desire to achieve a qualitative leap in dealing with the public quickly, the Ministry of Public Works launched Hotline No. 150 to immediately deal with complaints and follow up procedures in its sectors, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting an official source from the ministry.

According to the source, Public Works Minister Rana Al-Faris formed a committee tasked to evaluate the performance of the hotline and to determine the actual number of employees assigned to it; as the minister found out that a large number of employees are involved in this work – approximately 60 employees from different sectors. The source disclosed that the committee decided to reduce the number of employees to one third and retain the others to their respective sectors; thereby, saving public money as it is no longer necessary to pay allowances to the latter. The source stated that the hotline is now under the Maintenance Engineering Sector, instead of the Public Relations Department at the Minister’s Office. The source also unveiled a plan to assign some female employees in the morning shift, while the rest will work in the evening shift.
