KUWAIT CITY, July 12: The Ministry of Public Works intends to launch a program on its electronic portal during the coming period for the Kuwaitization of its employees by 25 percent in the ministry’s contracts and tenders, reports Al-Anba daily quoting informed sources. They revealed that this move is aimed to activate the role and recommendations of the Kuwaitization Contracts Committee, which was formed by the Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Affairs Dr. Rana Al-Fares, in August 2020.

The sources explained that the committee submitted its report, and it contained a set of recommendations related to Kuwaitization of contracts and advisory agreements concluded by the Ministry of Public Works and the Public Authority for Roads and Transportation (PART) in a way that aims to implement the Kuwaitization process.

The committee’s report dealt with the Kuwaitization regulation and the inventory of existing and new projects, in addition to the inclusion of the Kuwaitization clause in new contracts so that it is not less than 25 percent in each tender or agreement. It also dealt with the formation of a permanent team for appointment and follow-up, and linked this with the management of the information center to work on the mechanism of announcing the way to submit these recommendations that conform with the road map that achieves the aspirations of Kuwaiti national cadres and promotes greater benefit from them in those entities.
