KUWAIT CITY, Feb 29: Several lawmakers welcomed the Amiri decision to reinstate Ahmed Al-Jassar as Minister of Electricity and Water, indicating he is the right person for the post. Commenting on the reinstatement of Al-Jassar, MP Saif Al-Azmi congratulated and praised him for winning the trust of HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak.

The lawmaker affirmed that the reinstated minister deserves the post considering his capabilities and the efforts he exerted in the past. He wished the minister success in his work, especially since the political leadership trusts his abilities.

MP Abdullah Al-Adwani asserted Al- Jassar is the right man in the right place because of his vast experience in the ministry and his professionalism. He thanked HH the Amir for trusting Al-Jassar once again and lauded the decision to reappoint the minister after being cleared of all accusations.

Meanwhile, First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid has confirmed that the Kuwaiti-Saudi relationship is solid. This is in response to the complaint submitted by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Kuwait against MP Abdul-Hameed Dashti for offending the Kingdom.

The minister stressed, “Kuwait-Saudi relations remain strong and we do not tolerate anyone who undermines the Kingdom. As a State of institutions, we will take the necessary action to ensure that Kuwait’s relationship with Saudi Arabia remains strong regardless of circumstance, time and place.” Also commenting on the complaint, MP Ahmed Al-Qudaibi asserted Dashti’s statement does not represent the stand of the nation as it is his personal opinion so he alone will bear the legal and political consequences. He said such behavior is not in line with the principles of the Kuwaiti Parliament. “I reaffirm our support for our brothers in the Kingdom as we share a common destiny. This was clearly manifested in the participation of our military forces in the Decisive Storm and Thunder of the North operations,” he concluded
