Probe demanded on MoH archive fire

KUWAIT CITY, March 14: MPs Muhammad Al-Mutair, Abdulkareem Al-Kandari, Fares Al-Otaibi, Al-SaifiMubarak Al-Saifi, Khalid Al-Otaibi, Mubarak Al-Hajraf, Muhannad Al-Sayer, Osama Al-Menawer, Abdullah Al- Mudaf, Thamer Al-Suwait, Marzouq Al- Khalifa, Saleh Zeib Al-Mutairi and Hassan Jawhar submitted a proposal to hold a special session on March 20 to discuss violations related to Kuwait Army Fund.

These MPs asked the National Assembly to invite representatives of the State Audit Bureau (SAB) to a meeting on the report about the violations; as well as Amiri Diwan Minister Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah and former Amiri Diwan Minister Sheikh Ali Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah to hear their testimonies on the issue. Meanwhile, MP Hesham Al-Saleh forwarded queries to Minister of Health Dr Khalid Al- Saeed about the alleged fire which engulfed the archive room at the Purchase Department in the Ministry of Health due to electrical short circuit. If this information is true; he wants to know the results of investigations, measures taken after the incident, steps taken to prevent recurrence of the incident, and if it is arson as claimed by some social media accounts. He requested for a report mentioning the documents and data which were damaged because of the fire and evidence that there are copies of the damaged documents.

MP Abdulkareem Al-Kandari asked Minister of Interior Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah about the statistics on murder, violence and drug crimes; in addition to the quantity of confiscated drugs so far. MP Fayez Al-Jomhour forwarded queries to Minister of Health Dr Khalid Al-Saeed about the rationale behind the decision to sell some of the medical equipment at Al-Razi Hospital, Farwaniya Hospital, Adan Hospital and Jahra Hospital. He wants to know the number of such equipment, purchase prices, expected selling prices, if the items will be auctioned, and if they will be sold as second hand or damaged.

In another development, Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al- Ghanim recently awarded the new rank of officers assigned at the National Assembly Security Unit who were promoted to captain in the presence of Secretary General for Security Affairs Major General Khalid Al-Waqeet and Director of Security Affairs Department Colonel Badr Al-Mutawa’a. The promoted officers include Abdullah Al-Shehab, Abdulrazeq Al-Zaid, Mesha’al Al-Thaqeb and Abdulmuhsen Al- Ajeel.
