KUWAIT CITY, July 30: MPs Ahmed Mutei Al-Azmi, Fayez Al-Jomhour and Abdullah Al-Turaiji called on the relevant authorities, mainly the Ministry of Interior, to immediately deport Iranian Shiite scholar Ahmed Al- Sherazi for repeatedly insulting the Companions (Sahaba) of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and humiliating the icons of the Sunnis.

The MPs pointed out that such an attitude threatens national security and weakens national unity. This happened simultaneously with the religious celebrations of the Shiite in the first 10 days of the month of Muharram, commemorating the martyrdom of Husain — grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

On the other hand, Shiite MP Hesham Al- Saleh criticized such calls, pointing out his three colleagues are trying to make electoral gains by provoking the citizens.

Meanwhile, National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim sent cables to Speaker of the House of Councillors of Morocco Al Naam Miyara and Speaker of the House of Representatives Rashid Talbi Alami on the occasion of Throne Day. By Saeed Mahmoud Saleh Arab Times Staff
