MP hits government for its handling of the COVID crisis

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 7: MP Farz Al-Daihani has criticized the way the government has been dealing with COVID-19 crisis. He said that after the problems caused by Kuwait Mosafer application, the Civil Service Commission (CSC ) issued a decision on resumption of full attendance of employees in the public sector. He also denounced the implementation of the fingerprint attendance system in public institutions even if the average number of corona cases is still high — around 700 cases daily.

MP Osama Al-Shaheen has submitted a proposal to launch an e-platform for visiting the natural reserves in the country. He suggested opening natural reserves to the public at low entrance fees according to regulations of the Environment Public Authority (EPA) on protecting wild life. He cited the previous decision of EPA to allow citizens to visit Al- Kguwaisat Natural Reserve in Jahra to familiarize themselves with different wild life species, especially the students. He said his proposal aims to include other natural reserves — Sabah Al-Ahmad, Saad Al-Abdullah and Mubarak Al-Kabeer — to the aforementioned decision.

Meanwhile, MP Khalid Al-Anzi forwarded queries to Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Communication and Information Technology Affairs Rana Al-Fares about Kuwait International Airport terminal (T2) project. He wanted to know if the project was being implemented as scheduled, cost in case the completion is delayed, if the contract includes variation orders, cost and reasons behind variation orders if any, target completion date as per contract compared to the actual implementation rate, and penalties if the contractor fails to complete the project on time.By Saeed Mahmoud Saleh Arab Times Staff
