KUWAIT CITY, May 25: MP Abdulkareem Al-Kandari has asked the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to implement the law on punishing a supplier or company proven to be hoarding products in a bid to earn higher profits. He also urged the Consumer Cooperative Societies Union to stop the manipulation of prices of commodities.
Meanwhile, MP Al-SaifiMubarak Al-Saifihas forwarded queries to Minister of Public Works, Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy Ali Al-Mousa about the steps taken to deal with seasonal problems; such as roads covered with sand. He wants to know the strategy of the Public Works Ministry in addressing these problems.
In addition, Al-Saifiasked Minister of Health Dr Khalid Al-Saeed about the violation of a decision issued by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid on April 11 to suspend the transfer, secondment and reshuffling of employees. He requested for copies of decisions to reshuffle and transfer doctors within the period specified for the implementation of the premier’s decision. He asked for details about the alleged shortage of cancer medicines, especially the chemical drugs which are important for cancer patients. He demanded for clarification about the alleged provision of nutritional supplements for cancer patients in public hospitals even if the concerned authorities have not approved these supplements, which also failed to meet the specified conditions like high Omega 3 content.
MP Osama Al-Shaheen asked Minister of Education and Higher Education Ali Al-Mudaf about the number of students eligible for excellence and rare specialization allowance, and reasons for not paying them the allowance since 2019. By Saeed Mahmoud Saleh Arab Times Staff
