KUWAIT CITY, Aug 16: In response to the report titled “Bird Market… a time bomb” published earlier this week, government agencies mobilized to ‘dismantle’ and remove violations and correct the conditions in the market in order to preserve the lives of its clients and workers, reports Al-Rai daily.

Deputy Director General of the Livestock Sector at the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) Mohsen Al-Mutairi said the Deputy Director General of the Administrative and Financial Affairs Sector in the authority was addressed to include the bird and feed market within the organizational structure of the authority’s employees by creating a new section for him to follow up the authority’s bird and feed markets and projects. He indicated that his sector also requested for the organizational structure of the proposed section (Birds and Feed Markets Section) to be within the control of veterinary services - Animal Health Department of the sector.

Al-Mutairi said, “The authority, in the matter of urgency, sent its personnel to clean the bird market and its surroundings in order to protect public health. The director general of Kuwait Municipality was addressed to provide manpower to continue cleaning the bird and feed market.
