Motorist involved in Al-Soor accident sent to Central Jail

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 27: The Ministry of the Interior announced the suspect responsible for the traffic accident that occurred at dawn on Thursday at the intersection of Al-Soor Street with King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Road has been remanded to police custody for 10 days (in pretrial detention pending investigation) and referred her to the Central Prison in preparation for her transfer to the competent court, reports Al-Rai daily. The Ministry of Interior stated the suspect has been charged with death, injury, and suspected abnormal condition of the driver and her escort, who were allegedly under the influence of intoxicating substances, as well as crossing a red traffic light, speeding, and murder by mistake, injury by mistake, and driving the vehicle with expired insurance documents.

The driver of the vehicle that caused the accident, as well as her escort, were referred to the General Department of Criminal Evidence to take samples, conduct the necessary analyzes, and hand them over to the investigation authority. The vehicles were also seized for inspection by the Traffic Engineering Department and the technical expert. Those accused of the traffic accident are being investigated and necessary investigations are ongoing according to the law.
