KUWAIT CITY, Dec 8: Authorities in the Criminal Security Sector, represented by the Hawalli Governorate Criminal Investigation Department, have launched an investigation into the attempted suicide of a young resident who tried to jump from a fifth-floor apartment in a residential building in the Salmiya area.
According to official sources, the incident came to light after the young man’s mother filed a report stating that her son had been behaving abnormally and attempted to leap from the apartment window. She immediately intervened and managed to prevent him from falling, restraining him until security personnel arrived at the scene.
An initial medical examination revealed that the young man was under the influence of narcotic medication, which had caused a reduced level of consciousness. Based on these findings and under the direction of the Public Prosecution, the case was officially registered as an “attempted suicide,” and the Criminal Investigation Department was assigned to conduct a full investigation.
During questioning, the young man admitted that he had attempted suicide, stating that he suffers from psychological disorders and depression. He explained that he had consumed medication exceeding his prescribed dosage, which impaired his awareness and ultimately led to the suicide attempt.
Investigations confirmed the accuracy of the report and the circumstances surrounding the incident. The competent authorities are continuing to complete the required legal procedures while monitoring and investigating any additional developments related to the case.
