TEL AVIV, (AP) Mar 27: A group of Israeli military parents has urged the army to halt its ground offensive into Lebanon, warning against further escalation and casualties. In a letter sent Friday to the Israeli military’s chief of staff, Eyal Zamir, the organization Parents of Combat Soldiers, which represents around 600 families, said soldiers were being ordered by political leaders who are willing to “sacrifice” their children and called for a shift toward a political solution instead of continued military action. The letter questioned the human cost of the operation, noting that four soldiers have already been killed in Lebanon and asking how many more lives would be lost “in vain.”
