KUWAIT CITY, Dec 10: Kuwaiti volunteer entrepreneur Youssef Al-Omran has requested Minister of Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr Adel Al-Manea to approve the maintenance of 100 toilets and renovation of 100 sheds in various schools throughout the country, reports Al-Rai daily. Al-Omran took this step after calling for the repair of street potholes, cleaning parks and dozens of other social initiatives that he launched as part of his volunteering campaign.

In response, Al-Manea instructed the assistant undersecretary for Educational Facilities and Planning to coordinate with Al-Omran following the regulations and laws. Al- Omran disclosed that the aim of the campaign is “to push for national community participation and support in strengthening love for the homeland through cooperation and solidarity in building a sophisticated and beautiful nation.”

The daily obtained a copy of Al-Omran’s letter stating: “Given that Kuwait’s schools suffer from lack of maintenance, I launched the volunteering campaign in cooperation with some private companies and banks to carry out maintenance works in 100 toilets and renovation of 100 sheds in different schools.” He confirmed obtaining preliminary approval from the minister, indicating the budget will be determined soon. He went on to say that his volunteer initiative in Jahra Governorate focuses on repairing potholes on the roads leading to the College of Basic Education under the supervision of the Ministry of Public Works.
