KUWAIT CITY, Sep 7: Mosques across Kuwait performed the special eclipse prayer at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, following the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The eclipse prayer is a confirmed Sunnah, as the Prophet (PBUH) said: “The sun and the moon are two signs among the signs of Allah. They do not eclipse for the death or life of anyone. When you see them, pray and supplicate until the eclipse clears.” This prayer has distinct characteristics: it requires neither the call to prayer (adhan) nor the call to commence (iqamah), and it is recited aloud. It consists of two rak‘ahs, with each rak‘ah including two standings, two recitations, two bowings, and two prostrations.
