Moroccan Man in Kuwait Loses KD1,000 in Night Burglary

KUWAIT CITY, Apr 19: A quiet evening turned into a jarring ordeal for a Moroccan expatriate in his thirties after his apartment in Al-Ruqai was broken into while he was out with friends. The victim told police at the Andalus Police Station that he left home around 6:00 PM and returned just four hours later to find his door smashed open and cash missing.

Authorities said the intruder made off with KD1,000 and 40 Moroccan dirhams, leaving behind a ransacked scene and few immediate clues. The case, registered as a felony under the classification “Breakthrough,” has raised concerns about residential security in the area.

The victim stated he could not identify any suspects and was unaware of surveillance cameras in the building — a detail that could complicate the investigation.

Forensic teams were swiftly dispatched to comb the apartment for fingerprints and other traces, as investigators race to uncover the identity of the suspect who struck in the narrow window of absence.
