KUWAIT CITY, Jan 15: In a move aimed at reinforcing the Kuwaitization policy and bolstering national cadres, Engineer Iman Al-Omar, the Assistant Undersecretary for the Government Center Sector for Inspections, Quality Control, and Research, has formally requested the termination of services for expatriate employees within the sector. Reliable sources within the Ministry of Public Works (MPW) disclosed this development to Al-Rai.

Al-Omar directed the request to Kifayat Al-Najdi, the Assistant Undersecretary for the Administrative, Financial, and Legal Affairs Sector. The request, aligned with existing rules, regulations, and laws, signifies a strategic shift towards promoting local employment and empowering Kuwaiti nationals.

The sources emphasized that the list of expatriate employees earmarked for termination was appended to Al-Omar’s formal request. This measure is part of a broader initiative to prioritize Kuwaiti citizens in the workforce and nurture a self-sufficient and skilled national labor pool.

In parallel efforts, Al-Omar has undertaken a contract for the comprehensive maintenance of the center’s buildings, facilities, and services. This includes periodic, preventive, and preparatory maintenance work on all systems, devices, and equipment within the Government Center Sector. Addressing comments from the Audit Bureau, the focus is on enhancing the efficiency of systems responsible for suctioning gas fumes resulting from laboratory examination operations.

This strategic realignment within the Ministry of Public Works reflects a commitment to advancing Kuwait’s workforce policies and ensuring the optimization of infrastructure and facilities crucial to the nation’s operations.
