Monitor your kids’ use of social media

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 8: The Kuwait National Child Protection Program (KNCPP) highlighted the critical role of parents in safeguarding their children by closely monitoring their use of electronic games and social media. KNCPP stressed the importance of enhancing open dialogue and trust, and encouraging children to report any suspicious behavior, grooming attempts, or abuse immediately, and to contact the relevant security authorities without hesitation. This statement was issued following the arrest of a suspect in a child assault case, which KNCPP cited as an example of effective child protection measures.

It also expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Interior’s General Directorate of Criminal Investigation for their quick and professional efforts that led to the arrest, stressing that this reflects the efficiency of security services and their ongoing commitment to protecting society and upholding children’s rights. KNCPP explained that the quick response to the report, proper handling of the incident, and decisive legal measures taken without leniency demonstrate that any assault on children is a clear red line that cannot be crossed under any circumstances.

Early reporting is a shared societal responsibility. Cooperation between families, security authorities, and child protection institutions is essential to prevent risks, particularly given the growing challenges of the digital world. It prayed for the safety of children and the protection of Kuwait through its security forces, and expressed sincere gratitude to all who contribute to safeguarding children and protecting society.
