KUWAIT CITY, April 16: The Family Court ruled in favor of a mother, granting her custody of her children, while instructing the father to fulfill his financial obligations to her and the children. The court obligated the father to pay spousal support of KD70 monthly, child support (food and clothing) of KD150 per month, KD100 housemaid salary per month and KD70 monthly rental for the residential unit where the children reside or a total of KD390 per month. This takes effect from the date the lawsuit was filed. In addition, the court ordered the father to pay a lump sum of KD750 for the expenses of hiring a housemaid, in addition to KD1,000 for furnishing the residence of the children. The ruling in the case filed by Attorney Israa Al-Haddad also ordered the father to shoulder the court costs and KD50 legal fees, while the other claims were dismissed.
