KUWAIT CITY, Feb 23: As part of preparations for the 2026 National Day celebrations, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Major General Abdulwahab Ahmed Al-Wuhaib, chaired a high-level security meeting on Monday with heads of relevant security sectors to finalize plans for ensuring the safety of the festivities.
Major General Al-Wuhaib conveyed greetings from His Excellency the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, and emphasized the need for strong coordination among all sectors to uphold the civilized image of Kuwait during the celebrations. The meeting reviewed precautionary security measures, readiness levels, and operational coordination, with directives for security leaders to be present on the ground to monitor implementation.
He highlighted the importance of vigilance, firm enforcement of the law, and proactive measures to prevent public-order violations such as spraying water, obstructing traffic, or displaying large flags that impede visibility. At the same time, he called for officials to assist the public, especially the elderly and people with special needs.
Concluding the meeting, Major General Al-Wuhaib noted that National Day and Liberation Day are expressions of citizens’ pride and joy, urging everyone to celebrate responsibly and in a manner reflecting Kuwaiti values, responsibility, and civic commitment.
