MoI seizes 300-kg drugs, 929K narcotic pills & 889 liquor bottles in Q2 of 2019

KUWAIT CITY, July 3: More than 300 kilograms of drugs, 929,000 narcotic pills, and 889 liquor bottles were discovered during the second quarter of this year. In a press release, Ministry of Interior explained that 159 kilograms of hashish, 679 kilograms of methamphetamine (shabew), 12.7 heroin, 23 marijuana, 58.5 chemical drug, one gram of cocaine and six grams of betel leaves.

Assistant Undersecretary for Criminal Security Affairs at Ministry of Interior Major General Khaled Al-Dayeen said the Criminal Security Sector represented by Drugs Control General Department (DCGD) are exerting tremendous efforts to enhance program to fight this disease of drug use, affirming that the sector will continue to hold campaigns against drug users.

He also appreciated the efforts exerted by the ministry to face this challenge with the support and guidance of Minister of Interior and Deputy Head of the Council of Ministers Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Jarrah. Major General Al-Dayeen affirmed that the Criminal Security Sector, with the support of security authorities, foiled attempts to smuggle drugs via the borders, reduce the activities of drug promoters, and curb local manufacturing.
