KUWAIT CITY, Jan 2: Public Relations and Security Media Department at Interior Ministry refuted news item circulating on social media saying a lady police officer at the airport allowed her boyfriend to leave the country despite he’s banned from traveling, says Interior Ministry.

The department stated the photo of the officer who’s at the center of false allegations is a captain working in a different sector and she’s currently on leave, stressing no such violation was ever committed by the ministry’s employees.

It further indicated the ministry has tools enabling its officers to follow up individuals who commit violations, and the violators are referred to concerned authorities. It urged all social media users to desist from spreading false news or allegations to avoid falling in the clutches of law.

A sergeant from the Ministry of Defense was arrested for assaulting and robbing a lady police officer with the rank of sergeant major in Jleeb Al- Shuyoukh, reports Al-Anba daily. In her complaint, the lady officer said a young man assaulted her and snatched her handbag containing documents, an unspecified sum and cell phone before driving off. She provided the police with number plate of the robber which led to his arrest. The suspect claimed he and the complainant were planning to get married but the lady denied knowing him. She identified him in a lineup.
