MoI personnel raid illegal office sheltering runaway housemaids run by Egyptian and a Nepali

KUWAIT CITY, April 24: Personnel from the Home Employment Department affiliated to the Residence Affairs Department of the Ministry of Interior recently raided an illegal domestic workers recruitment office run by an Egyptian and his Nepalese accomplice, reports Al-Anba daily.

The daily quoting reliable sources said the office thrived on sheltering runaway housemaids. A police source said during the raid the authorities seized 6 Nepalese — 4 runaway housemaids and two drivers. The job of the six was to incite other domestic workers to escape from their sponsors and take them to the office with promises of better working conditions and better pay.
