KUWAIT CITY, Jan 27: The Ministry of Interior has issued a cautionary advisory, urging the public to be vigilant against a fraudulent website impersonating the ministry itself. In an official statement, the Ministry confirmed that the deceptive website, operated by malicious administrators, is orchestrating a scam intending to extort money from unsuspecting individuals.

According to the Ministry’s statement, the fraudulent website has been sending messages to specific individuals, falsely claiming that a payment of 450 dinars is required to access explicit content. The messages assert that failure to pay the alleged fine, which is unjustly set at 450 dinars, would result in the individual’s arrest and referral to court. Furthermore, the deceptive messages outline severe consequences, including a two-year imprisonment term and a fine exceeding 1180 dinars, purportedly for the committed transgression.

The Ministry of Interior emphasizes the urgency of not responding to such fraudulent solicitations and warns citizens against falling victim to this scam. Authorities are actively investigating the matter to identify and apprehend those behind the fake website, urging the public to report any suspicious online activities related to this matter.
