KUWAIT CITY, Dec 21: In response to an article written by Ali Al-Baghli, Director General of the General Department of Public Relations and Security Media at the Ministry of Interior Brigadier General Tawhid Abdullah Al-Kandari said, "With reference to what was published in your newspaper, Issue No. 16971, dated 12/13/2020, under the title "You are not even capable of handling revelers", the General Department of Public Relations and Security Media would like to inform you that the traffic and operations sector spares no effort in monitoring and following up all negative phenomena without exception, including the phenomenon of traffic disturbance for vehicles or motorcycles", reports Al-Qabas daily.

The department explained that the traffic and operations sector carries out many traffic and security campaigns in all governorates to control the behavior of road users, deal immediately with any negative phenomena, and refer the perpetrators to the concerned authorities. The sector works to implement the laws through the General Traffic Department, the General Administration of Rescue Police, and the Central General Administration of Operations, each in their respective fields.

There is a permanent distribution of stationary and mobile patrol terms on all roads and checkpoints to follow up any wrong behaviors. A WhatsApp No. 99324092 has been allocated by the traffic operations sector to immediately report any behavior that is in violation of the law.

Stopping the import of products related to negative behaviors and preventing vehicle repair and inspection workshops are not within the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Interior, but within the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, which has been addressed in this regard.

In the month of November 2020, the Traffic and Operations Sector issued 1,979 citations for violations related to noise disturbances from vehicles and motorcycles.
