KUWAIT CITY, Dec 10: The Ministry of Health stressed the importance of strengthening the drug security system in the State of Kuwait due to its importance in completing the provision of services within the health system, indicating that it works around the clock to provide all medicines and laboratory supplies in its facilities through its contracts after obtaining approvals from the regulatory authorities.

The ministry stated in a press statement on Friday, that despite the existence of many challenges at all levels, it is in cooperation with all relevant authorities, is working to overcome all difficulties in order to enhance drug security, stressing its keenness to provide drug alternatives in the event of a shortage of medicines. She explained that due to the importance of strengthening the drug security system in the country, the Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al- Awadi, immediately after the formation of the government, took several important steps. She stated that the first of these steps is the formation of a MoH working to provide all medicines, supplies in all our facilities, labs headed by a consultant from the Fatwa and Legislation Department and membership of members from the Fatwa and Legislation Department and the Ministry of Finance, in order to investigate and indicate whether or not there is a shortage in the stock of some medicines and medical supplies and to identify the parties and persons responsible for this. The committee also studies the obstacles facing it.
