KUWAIT CITY, Sept 9: The Ministry of Health is preparing to present its views to the Council of Ministers the framework  plan of reducing the dispensing of medicines in hospitals, health centers and supporting medical services for expatriates.  Sources stated that the Ministry of Health has flexible alternatives to treat expats in a way that it does not affect service provided to this segment especially related to operation appointments who are covered with medical insurance.

The MOH is expected to present a comprehensive plan to cut spending for the current fiscal year 2021-2022 by at least 10%, reports Al Rai. The Cabinet Ministers have assigned the Health ministry to provide the Ministry of Finance a study on medicine items and alternatives for expats, reducing scholarship students, expat workers in health offices abroad, health insurance contract for retirees and 30% reduction in overseas treatment and limiting them only to critical cases.
