KUWAIT CITY, Aug 1: The Ministry of Health is racing against time to speed up the pace of vaccinations against the coronavirus, to reach herd immunity within a few months, especially since the daily vaccinations record a significant increase to the tune of 100,000 doses, reports Al-Qabas daily. According to official sources at the Ministry of Health, the ministry is keen to solve any technical problem facing some segments when they register on the electronic vaccination platform to ensure the epidemic recedes and the daily infection rates and deaths resulting from complications of the disease decrease.

The source pointed out the Ministry of Health is also keen to ensure the arrival of the Pfizer and Oxford vaccines batches on time, as well as accelerating the pace of the arrival of the ‘Johnson & Johnson and Moderna’ vaccines, to vaccinate about 70% of the total population in the country to bring life to normal.

Scope
The source stated the ministry’s recent inauguration of two vaccination centers in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and at the Al-Tadamon Club aims to expand the scope of the vaccination campaign to include all those registered through the electronic platform as well as its intention to open vaccination centers in labor accommodation areas. The source pointed out the increase in health awareness campaigns among large segments has contributed signifi- cantly to avoiding infection with the virus, which led to a decline in the daily recorded infection rates, in addition to the fact that the recent increase in vaccination rates has played a role in reducing and preventing infections, compared to earlier times. The official spokesman of the Ministry of Health, Dr Abdullah Al-Sanad, said the Ministry of Health is cooperating with the Husseiniya Committee and Kuwaiti Councils, to vaccinate about 4,000 employees of the Husseiniyas, which is done in coordination with the mobile vaccination units. The vaccinations will be given at the Husseiniya of Sayed Ali Al-Mousawi in Bneid Al-Qar
