MoH official confirms increase in frequency of vaccination, centers

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 24: The Ministry of Health began vaccinating residents of the Kuwait Vaccination Center in the Mishref region, for the elderly and patients with chronic diseases, since those groups are most vulnerable for infection with the virus. A member of the Supreme Advisory Committee to combat “COVID-19” in the ministry, Professor Khaled Al-Jarallah, confirmed the increase in the frequency of vaccination, in addition to the increase in centers that provide vaccination, saying, “We aspire to push the community of all groups to receive the vaccination during this period, with the aim of reaching the community immunity.”

At the same time he stressed on the importance of receiving vaccination and adopting all health requirements for citizens and residents, including those who have received the vaccination – first and second doses, and putting on hold meetings, weddings and other events that may lead to an increase in infections.

Al-Jarallah stressed on the importance of the containment and slowdown strategy, with the aim of increasing the ability of the health system to provide safe healthcare and deal with cases infected with the coronavirus that require hospitalization.

He added during the one year period that the pandemic has affected Kuwait with the rest of the world, Kuwait saw the rise, decline and stability in the pandemic cases, and then an increase in infections in recent weeks, and we are now living in the epidemic situation and there is an increase in the cases of patients in hospitals and intensive care, especially among the age group from 16 to 40 years.
