MoH eyes boost in healthcare facility procedures for patients

KUWAIT CITY, July 21: The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Sheikh Dr. Salman Khalifa Al-Sabah, issued a circular regulating procedures in healthcare facilities to clarify roles and responsibilities and improve the efficiency of patient services. In an official statement, the Ministry of Health explained that the circular assigns healthcare facility administrations and public relations departments the responsibility of receiving and handling inquiries from patients and their families promptly and efficiently, in accordance with approved procedures.

The circular also mandates the implementation of necessary organizational measures to ensure smooth workflow, create a more efficient working environment, and address any challenges that may arise. Healthcare staff should limit their interactions with patients to medical, clinical, and technical matters within the scope of their professional duties. The circular aims to reinforce the separation of responsibilities between medical and administrative departments, thereby preserving patients’ dignity, protecting the professional standing of healthcare practitioners, and enhancing the overall quality of healthcare services
