Institutional quarantine for expats returning from high-risk countries

KUWAIT CITY, July 7: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation is awaiting instructions from the Council of Ministers to explain mechanism for entry of expats from August which includes high-risk countries including Egypt, India, Pakistan and other. Mechanism may include institutional quarantine for all those coming to Kuwait from high risk countries in hotels.

Currently the Cabinets decision allows entry of expats to the country are those vaccinated with two doses with approved vaccinations in Kuwait and a PCR negative certificate valid for 72 hrs from specific laboratories abroad who conduct PCR examination,. Currently on Kuwait-Mosafer more than 47 hotels have been added, reports Al Anba. Regarding forgery of vaccination and PCR certificates strict procedures and protocols are implemented at Kuwait Airport by the Ministry of Health and DGCA to prevent these practices.

The Ministry confirmed that there is a specialized technical team to review and scrutinize vaccination certificates issued from outside the country, before they are approved and documented in the local official platforms. The technical team checks the documents and certificates of vaccination issued abroad to Kuwaiti Citizens and expats after they are uploaded on the website (https://vaxcert.moh.gov.kw/SPCMS/PH/CVD_19_Vaccine_External_RegistrationModify.aspx) to ensure the validity of their issuance. After checking the certificates an reply is sent to the concerned person of approval or to complete its documentation procedures.
