KUWAIT CITY, Sept 14: Assistant Undersecretary for Public Education at Ministry of Education Osama Al-Sultan has requested the directors of all educational zones and religious education to list the names of non-Kuwaiti teachers and administrators who are stranded outside the country, reports Al-Qabas daily.
In a letter, he stressed the need to adhere to the template for listing the names that should be formally approved, insisting that this matter should be considered as urgent because it needs to be concluded within the next three days due to the start of work for employees of various educational stages for the 2020/2021 academic year.
According to an informed source, such a request is based on government's recommendations to enter the data of employees of state agencies into the platform of those who are stranded outside the country.
Meanwhile, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) refused to approve the Ministry of Education’s draft decision to assign three heads of departments to work as directors of educational zones along with their current responsibilities.
In its response to the ministry, CSC said, “After reviewing the draft decision and the attached documents, we inform you that, in the event that the position is vacant, the appointment will be based on decision No. 25/2006, provided it is at the same supervisory level.
Regarding the proposed draft decision, we find that the position of an educational department director is not at the same level of supervision as that of the director general of an educational district. Therefore, it is not permissible to delegate such positions along with the current work position.”
