KUWAIT CITY, March 27: The Ministry of Education has started procedures for the bidding for new centralized air conditioning contracts in educational districts for a period of three years with an estimated total value of KD 8.4 million — two contracts for each district, reports Al-Rai daily quoting a reliable source from the educational sector.

The source disclosed that “the new tenders are still with the regulatory authorities, so the ministry extended its existing contracts until June.” He affirmed that the ministry has completed the extension of air-conditioning contracts (separate units) for another year, as they will end in March 2024, for all educational districts. He clarified the new tenders include two centralized airconditioning contracts and two airconditioning unit contracts, indicating six new companies are participating in the bidding. The source added that the engineering affairs departments in the districts completed the preventive maintenance of airconditioning systems in schools on March 7 in preparation for the summer season.
