KUWAIT CITY, April 19: In a fraternal meeting reflecting institutional cooperation, Minister of Education Eng. Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtabaei welcomed Dean of Kuwaiti Journalism and Editor-in-Chief of Al-Seyassah and Arab Times newspapers Ahmed Al-Jarallah at his office on Sunday, reports Al-Seyassah daily. The meeting was held in an exceptional atmosphere of mutual respect, with owner of Al-Mouasherji Printing Press Dhari Al-Mouasherji and owner of Al- Risala Printing Press Marzouq Al-Jassem in attendance.
During the meeting, Al-Tabtabaei highlighted the important achievements of the Ministry of Education, particularly the acceleration of its digital transformation and expansion of online services for the educational and administrative sectors. He affirmed the remarkable progress in easing procedures through the official digital platforms, most notably the ‘Sahel’ application, which optimized handling complaints, transfer requests and diverse administrative services in a highly efficient manner.
He cited the systematic efforts to address personnel concerns and modernize work mechanisms in various sectors of the ministry. He stated that the educational system necessitates continuous monitoring and the intensive efforts of all sectors, considering the ministry is one of the huge institutions in the country in terms of operational volume and human capital. He disclosed that the ministry oversees more than one million students in public and private schools, supported by about160,000 employees, so it is at the forefront of national and educational responsibilities. He attributed these milestones to the wise directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the unwavering commitment of the political leadership to improve the quality of education and ensure a stable future for the children of the nation.
Partners He commended the vital contributions of national printing establishments, describing them as proactive partners in achieving institutional excellence, especially in terms of printing textbooks and educational publications according to international standards and within the specified deadlines. He expressed his appreciation for the constructive relationship with printing press owners, looking forward to the continuous synergy that supports the educational system and raises achievement levels.
He revealed that the ministry finalized a comprehensive regulatory framework for investing in educational facilities to enhance sustainable revenue streams, indicating the draft is currently undergoing final legal and procedural review. He added that this strategy aims to fully utilize the assets of the ministry, including unused buildings and land, as well as to regulate the use of sports and service facilities to support national development goals without compromising service quality for the students.
The meeting also touched on the successful outcomes of the second semester, specifically the production and distribution of textbooks in record time. The integrated stages of layout, auditing and delivery were completed according to the schedule, ensuring that the educational field is fully prepared to maintain academic continuity. Al-Tabtabaei lauded the dedication of the employees at the ministry in performing their duties. He also praised the high level of coordination with local printing firms, emphasizing that the “partnership with the private sector is a fundamental pillar in improving educational performance and institutional services.”
Meanwhile, Al-Jarallah commended Al-Tabtabaie’s vast knowledge and sophisticated grasp of the operational complexities of the ministry. He pointed out that the outstanding vision and practical approach of the Minister greatly contributed to ongoing efforts to improve the quality of educational outcomes. He highlighted the remarkable achievements of the ministry under the leadership of Al-Tabtabaei, who focuses on transparency and institutional development. He also lauded the ministry for its success in implementing the textbooks home-delivery initiative during the exceptional regional circumstances, stating this step as an unprecedented achievement in the history of Kuwaiti education.
