KUWAIT CITY, March 10: Undersecretary of Ministry of Education Dr Haitham Al-Atari revealed that the ministry will not recruit Egyptian teachers through recruitment agencies as it prefers recruiting them directly in order to avoid extra financial loads, reports Al-Rai daily. He said this in response to the call made in this regard by the Egyptian Ambassador to Kuwait, and he asked the Deputy Foreign Minister to notify the ambassador about the ministry’s stance.

Meanwhile, educational sources revealed that Ministry of Education is planning to create 1,000 vacancies during the academic year of 2016/2017 by dismissing 400 teachers specialized in Information Technology and referring to retirement some Kuwaiti and expatriate teachers who have completed the legal period of service.

However, they indicated that this is the fourth year that Ministry of Education has been taking such actions to create new teaching vacancies without the approval of the State Audit Bureau, stressing that several new schools will be opened next year especially in new area like Jaber Al-Ahmad area where there will be vacancies for teachers. The sources revealed that there are many Kuwaiti women who had passed the interview round with Ministry of Education last May and have been waiting since then to start their teaching careers.
