MoE ponders hike in expats salaries – Ministry demands teachers

KUWAIT CITY, March 8: The Ministry of Education (MoE) is studying the possibility of increasing the salaries of non-Kuwaiti social and psychological researchers. Sources disclosed these researchers have been asking for increment since the beginning of the month, indicating the ministry promised to look into their demand and grant it after obtaining approval from the Civil Service Commission (CSC).

Sources said the directors of educational districts have instructed the administrators of schools to send the data of these researchers including the number of years in service, last three salary increments, and other benefits like air tickets and accommodation allowance. In another development, the ministry announced its need for Kuwaiti, expatriate and Bedoun teachers specialized in interlocution to teach in private schools starting from 2016/2017 academic year.

Sources said the ministry’s headquarters will start receiving applications on Sunday. Sources added the conditions include academic specification with minimum ‘good’ degree, must be below 45 years old while the female Physical Education teachers should be below 30 years old.
