Modern Pentathlon Championship for men and women launched

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 27: The National Day Modern Pentathlon Championship for men and women kicked off at the Hunting and Equestrian Club, with more than 120 male and female participants competing in 5 sports over two days.

The head of the Kuwaiti Modern Pentathlon Club, the organizer of the tournament, Nasser Al-Waleed, said in a statement to reporters that this sporting event, which is held on the occasion of the country’s national holidays, includes races in running, swimming, shooting and fencing, in addition to jumping equestrian.

Al-Waleed mentioned that the competitions of the first day of the tournament were devoted to holding the qualifiers for the games, where 8 male and female teams qualify for the finals to compete for the title.

He explained that among 8 participating teams that collect the most points in the five games will be crowned as winners.  Several tournaments have been held for children (under 9 years) and youth (under 13 years) for both sexes.
