KUWAIT CITY, June 15: Inspectors from the Department of Technical Staff for Commodities Supervision and Price Regulation at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry recently conducted an inspection visit to a cooperative society in the Capital Governorate. The purpose of the visit was to verify the availability of commodities and ensure that their prices align with the records in the automated price control program system maintained by the Ministry.

Faisal Al-Ansari, Director of the Department of Technical Staff for Commodities Supervision and Price Regulation, stated in a press release that the inspection visit concluded with the Ministry’s inspectors confirming the presence of commodities without artificial price increases, and their compliance with the pricing information recorded in the automated system.

Al-Ansari further mentioned that the Ministry closely monitors 39 essential consumer commodities, including items such as rice, oils, dairy products, and frozen chicken. He highlighted the stability in prices and emphasized that cooperative societies are encouraged to promptly inform the Ministry of any changes or price hikes in commodities.

The Ministry maintains a comprehensive program that includes price information for products from 67 cooperative societies and 8 major central markets. Inspectors carefully examine and verify invoices, and in case of any unjustified price increases, they coordinate with the Commercial Control Department within the Ministry to document and take appropriate regulatory measures. Any violations are referred to the Commercial Prosecution for necessary legal actions.
