Missing Official Documents at the Environment Authority Referred to Prosecution

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 29: Minister of State for Development and Sustainability Dr Reem Ghazi Al-Faleej announced that the incident involving the loss of a number of important official documents and files related to the work of the General Authority for the Environment has been referred to the Public Prosecution.

Al-Faleej said the referral followed the findings of an administrative examination and investigation, as well as a recommendation by the competent investigation committee. She said the decision was taken as part of the ministry’s responsibility to protect public funds and uphold the principles of integrity, transparency and accountability.

She added that the facts and observations identified during the examination required further review and verification by the competent authorities, prompting the necessary legal measures and referral to the Public Prosecution.

Al-Faleej stressed that any issue affecting the integrity of procedures or the public interest would be dealt with without leniency, while respecting the jurisdiction and independence of the judicial authorities. She said oversight and accountability are inherent responsibilities and that protecting the public interest remains a constant priority in all decisions and actions.
