Ministry shuts 2 stores in violation of law

KUWAIT, April 16: The Kuwaiti Ministry of Trade and Industry announced today, Thursday, that two commercial stores were closed in violation of the laws and decisions in effect regarding the relevant measures to contain spread of coronavirus.

The ministry said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that its inspection teams monitored 286 cooperative societies, supermarkets, commercial stores and vegetable shops to determine the extent of their commitment and to maintain the stability of product prices.

Sources stated that the inspection teams monitored 80 catering branches to ensure the smooth flow of sales and delivery of foodstuffs to their customers, in addition to editing 12 violating commercial stores were issued warnings.

The emergency center had received 297 complaints via the hotline (135) and 36 complaints through the control centers, while the ration cards were issued and issued to 272 transactions.

The Ministry of Trade and Industry stressed the need to abide by the laws because of the exceptional circumstance that the country is going through, stressing that its concerned teams are continuing their inspection tours to ensure the safety of prices and services provided to consumers.(KUNA) -
