Ministry ready to fix possible water, power outages from heavy rain

KUWAIT CITY, July 28: The Ministry of Electricity and Water said on Thursday it is ready to deal with any disruptions to power or water supply the public may encounter as the country experiences a heavy downpour forecasted the following day.

“Emergency teams work around-the-clock to respond to reports of power or water interruptions through the 152 call centre or the ministry app, MEW 152,” acting Undersecretary Khalifa Al-Fraij said in a press statement. Since the beginning of the summer season, the ministry has responded to 12,439 distress calls regarding interruptions to power and 3,570 to water, he clarified.
