Security Measures Tightened for National Holiday Celebrations

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 20: The Ministry of Interior urged Kuwaiti citizens and expats to follow guidelines and instructions during national holiday celebrations, emphasizing strict enforcement of the law against any violations.

In a statement to the General Department of Security Relations and Media, the Ministry affirmed its readiness for the celebrations, implementing a comprehensive security and traffic plan under the directives of Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Acting Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah. The implementation is overseen by the Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Lieutenant General Sheikh Salem Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

Security and traffic awareness campaigns will be intensified, and coordinated by the Security Media Department in collaboration with various media platforms.

The Ministry emphasized the importance of maintaining respectful conduct during celebrations while also dealing firmly with any violations or misconduct. Guidelines include respecting the Kuwaiti flag, upholding public morals and order, refraining from littering, throwing water balloons, or using foam, all of which are punishable offenses.

Furthermore, adherence to security personnel instructions, safe driving practices, and vigilance, especially with children, are emphasized for everyone’s safety. The emergency hotline (112) is available 24/7 to receive security, traffic, and humanitarian reports.
